About Tony Medrano
Tony Medrano is an artificial intelligence entrepreneur, former U.S. Navy officer, educator and technology CEO whose career has been shaped by resilience, leadership and perseverance. Raised in Hacienda Heights, California, he developed an early appreciation for education, service, athletics and hard work. A military scholarship enabled him to attend Harvard, followed by graduate studies at Stanford and Columbia.
At 28, Medrano co-founded a technology company with Stanford engineering students, raising funding from SoftBank and growing the business to approximately 120 employees before its collapse in 2000. The experience became the subject of a Stanford Business School case study and influenced his approach to leadership and entrepreneurship.
In 2016, he founded a conversational artificial intelligence company focused on health and wellness. The venture ultimately failed. Around the same period, Medrano began training for endurance events. After being struck by a car while cycling and sustaining a separated shoulder, he completed his first full Ironman Triathlon using one arm for much of the 140.6-mile event. He went on to finish two additional full Ironman races.
Today, Medrano is CEO and co-founder of LongevityPlan.AI, Inc., developing technology around personalized health, fitness and longevity. His focus brings together artificial intelligence, wearable data and proactive health strategies to help people improve performance professionally today.
His story centers on responding to failure, adapting to difficult circumstances and continuing forward. Through military service, entrepreneurship, athletics and business setbacks, Medrano has developed a philosophy built around perseverance, contingency planning, urgency and disciplined decision-making.
