Lindsie Chrisley’s Decision Not to Publicly Honor Nic Kerdiles Explained

Lindsie Chrisley has opened up about her decision not to publicly acknowledge the passing of her sister Savannah Chrisley’s former fiancé, Nic Kerdiles. During an episode of the “Coffee Convos” podcast aired on September 28, Lindsie, aged 34, spoke to Kailyn Lowry about why she chose not to make a social media post honoring Kerdiles. She stated that given the strained relationship she has with her sister Savannah, any public tribute would seem insincere. Lindsie emphasized that life should not be lived for social media but for personal experiences away from the public eye.

Lindsie Chrisley has had a turbulent relationship with her sister Savannah, who is 26 years old. After Kerdiles’ death, Lindsie faced considerable criticism for posting celebratory pictures from her own birthday party instead of paying tribute to Kerdiles. Nic Kerdiles, a professional hockey player who was in a relationship with Savannah from 2017 to 2021, passed away on September 23 due to a motorcycle accident at the age of 29.

Lindsie recounted that she received harsh comments for posting happy photos during a time of sorrow. She explained that she had her own reasons for not sharing these photos earlier and had taken a brief break from social media. Lindsie also mentioned that she had received numerous messages asking her to share her birthday photos, which she eventually did on September 25. However, the comment section was filled with people criticizing her for posting happy pictures during a tragic time.

The Family’s Perspective on Public Mourning

Before posting her birthday photos, Lindsie had already decided not to say anything publicly about Kerdiles’ death. This decision was influenced by Kerdiles’ sister, who expressed her displeasure that her brother’s life was being overshadowed by his association with Savannah. Lindsie defended Savannah’s choice to publicly mourn Kerdiles, stating that the family is grieving and should not be tied back to public opinion.

Savannah did pay tribute to Kerdiles after his passing. She posted messages on her Instagram Story expressing her love and longing for him. She also mentioned that she looks forward to meeting him again in heaven.

The Chrisley family has had a difficult year. Todd and Julie Chrisley, the parents, are currently serving prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion, charges they deny. Todd is serving a 12-year sentence in Florida, and Julie will be in prison in Kentucky for seven years. Savannah has been granted custody of her younger brother, Grayson, and her niece, Chloe, in their absence.

Earlier this month, Savannah spoke about her strained relationship with Lindsie. Savannah claimed that Lindsie’s involvement in their parents’ court case complicated matters. Lindsie, however, defended herself on a recent episode of “Coffee Convos,” stating that blaming her for the family’s issues shows a lack of empathy.

Lindsie concluded by saying that loss is a personal experience and cannot be measured or compared. She emphasized that while she may not have been as involved in her parents’ lives as Savannah, the loss is still significant for her.
