A Call to Action for Domestic Violence Support
Grace Jabbari, former partner of Jonathan Majors, recently turned to her followers with a heartfelt request. In light of Majors being convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment against her, Jabbari used her 31st birthday as an opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting victims of domestic violence. She took to Instagram, expressing her gratitude to Sanctuary for Families, an organization instrumental in her journey through the trial.
On her birthday, December 19, Jabbari appealed to her Instagram community, encouraging them to consider donating to Sanctuary for Families. This organization played a pivotal role in her life this year, offering invaluable assistance. She acknowledged their support, “For my birthday, if you want.. a donation to @sffny, a charity that helped me so much this year, would be the best gift you could give,” as stated in her Instagram Story.
Sanctuary for Families, in a show of solidarity, shared on Instagram their pride in representing Jabbari. They committed to continuing their support for her as she seeks justice and healing.
Ross Kramer, leading the Sanctuary for Families Incarcerated Gender Violence Survivors Initiative, was Jabbari’s attorney during the trial. He expressed satisfaction with the verdict and praised Jabbari for her courage and truthfulness in the face of traumatic recollections during the trial. Kramer emphasized the significance of Jabbari’s determination and how it might inspire other survivors to come forward.
Jonathan Majors, known for his role in “Creed III,” was found guilty of third-degree misdemeanor assault and second-degree harassment, while being acquitted of some other charges. His sentencing is scheduled for February 6.
Post-conviction, Majors’ legal representative, Priya Chaudhry, spoke to CNN, emphasizing his intention to fully clear his name, expressing gratitude for the support he has received.
The conflict between Majors and Jabbari reportedly began over an altercation in a car in March. Majors was arrested in New York City following the incident, facing charges of assault and harassment. The altercation allegedly involved physical harm and emotional distress to Jabbari.
During the trial, Jabbari provided detailed testimony about the events that unfolded, including an altercation over a text message that escalated into physical violence.
Majors, who played significant roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, faced immediate professional repercussions following the verdict. Marvel Studios terminated his contract, as confirmed by Us Weekly. His portrayal of various characters across the multiverse had been a significant part of his career trajectory.
