From a young hip-hop artist to a renowned barber and influencer, Will Elmgren, also known as The Clouded Barber, has an inspiring journey to share. He proves that hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude can take you a long way, no matter where you start.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Will’s early days were filled with music and self-haircuts. He and his group, Orbit X, performed at various venues, including the Opera House, and collaborated with renowned artists such as Sadat X from Brand Nubian. However, Will’s passion for barbering emerged while cutting his own hair before performances, which led him to start cutting his friends’ hair.
With perseverance and determination, Will built a small barbershop in his garage and started advertising his services on Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace. Though he got caught up with the wrong crowd, Will didn’t let that define him. He enrolled in a hairstyling program and transitioned back to barbering. He studied barbers on YouTube, worked hard to perfect his techniques, and applied to local barbershops to gain experience.
Despite facing social anxiety, Will never gave up. He finally found his place at Barbershop Vaughan Mills, where he has been for the past nine years. His dedication and passion for his craft earned him the opportunity to participate in the Flawless Fade Championship at the Iconic Men Expo.
Will’s journey proves that hard work and dedication never betray. He inspires others to chase their dreams and never give up, no matter how challenging the circumstances.
