In 2018, at the tender age of 23, Nora Azykova embarked on a journey that would dramatically change the course of her life. However, reality proved to be much harsher upon her arrival than she had anticipated. Without a grasp of the English language and lacking any friends or connections in her new home, Nora faced the stark challenges of survival in a foreign country.
Her initial job was as a waitress in a small Uzbek cafe, earning a modest $120 a day, working grueling 12-hour shifts. The work was physically demanding, and the long hours and absence of any days off took a significant toll on her. Despite her best efforts, Nora found herself feeling increasingly dissatisfied with her circumstances. The relentless physical labor, coupled with the monotony of her daily routine, made it clear to her that she needed to make a drastic change if she was going to achieve the life she had always dreamed of.
During this challenging period, Nora began to turn her attention to the beauty industry—a field that had always held a certain allure for her. The world of beauty had fascinated Nora for as long as she could remember, and she soon realized that it could offer her a pathway to a better life. With determination in her heart, Nora made a pivotal decision: she would pursue a career in eyelash extensions, a niche within the beauty industry that she felt drawn to.

“I set a goal for myself—to earn more, to make a name for myself, and to have everyone talking about me and wanting to get their lashes done by me,” Nora recalls.
This ambitious goal became the driving force behind Nora’s relentless pursuit of success. She poured all of her earnings into her education and training, constantly striving to improve her skills and stay ahead of industry trends. Her hard work quickly paid off, and before long, Nora had established herself as a sought-after lash artist. Her name began to circulate within beauty circles, and clients flocked to her for her exceptional skills and artistic touch.

“I was looking for the perfect lashes that would allow me to create masterpieces,” Nora explains. “I didn’t care about the cost; quality was my priority. I found a factory in Korea, and we spent a long time testing and perfecting the products until they met the highest standards.”
Launching a brand from the ground up is no easy feat, and Nora faced numerous challenges. From navigating complex paperwork to developing the perfect design and overseeing production, every step required immense effort and dedication. Yet, despite the obstacles, Nora’s determination and perseverance saw her through. She successfully launched NORA DESIGN, a brand that quickly became synonymous with quality and professionalism in the beauty industry.
Nora’s talents extend beyond her work as a lash artist and businesswoman. She is also a gifted teacher, passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with others. Through her training programs, Nora has helped countless women develop the skills they need to become successful lash artists.
“I want to produce only strong artists,” says Nora. “My students must graduate from training fully prepared to work. I want them to be able to create high-quality work quickly, with a deep understanding of all the nuances involved.”
