Royalty isn’t immune to outfit repetition, and Kate Middleton is a prime example. She was spotted wearing a sophisticated navy blue pinstripe suit by Holland Cooper on two separate occasions within a week. This act challenges the notion that repeating an outfit is a fashion mistake.
Kate Middleton, aged 41, initially wore this ensemble featuring a blazer adorned with gold buttons and high-waisted trousers during a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook on September 29. On that day, she chose to pair the suit with a beige turtleneck, a choice many interpreted as a tribute to Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs, who was known for wearing similar turtlenecks.
Tim Cook, 62 years old, expressed his honor in meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales. He mentioned that they had an extensive conversation covering topics like environmental issues and mental health, which are important to everyone. Prince William, also 41, complemented his wife’s outfit by wearing a navy blue suit with a light blue button-up shirt. Tim Cook opted for a similar dark blue outfit.
Kate wore the same suit again on October 3 when she visited Fitzalan High School in Wales to mark the start of Black History Month in the U.K. This time, she switched her beige turtleneck for a clean white blouse and completed the look with pointed-toe pumps and loose curls in her hair.
This isn’t the first instance where Kate has recycled an outfit. She has been doing this for years. For example, she wore an Alexander McQueen coat dress initially for her daughter Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015 and then again at Prince Harry’s wedding in May 2019. She wore it for a third time at the Anzac Day services in April 2022.
She was also seen in a red Eponine coat, which she had previously worn during a visit to the National Portrait Gallery archives in May 2021. Kate often reuses accessories, shoes, handbags, and jewelry as well.
Natasha Archer has been the stylist responsible for Kate’s flawless fashion since 2007. In recognition of her contributions to the royal family, Archer received a Royal Victorian Order in May 2019.
Kate’s fashion choices have also been influenced by the late Queen Elizabeth II. According to royal expert Bethan Holt, many of Kate’s style choices are lessons she has learned from the Queen. Holt elaborated that Kate uses color and various symbols to convey messages, much like the Queen did throughout her life until her passing on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96.
