My name is Ia Manijka, but my full name is Ia Manizhashvili, and I hail from the picturesque Republic of Georgia. Music has always been an integral part of Georgian culture, woven into the fabric of our daily lives from a young age. Growing up, I was immersed in the rich sounds of traditional Georgian music, and it wasn’t long before I discovered my own passion for creating melodies and harmonies that resonated with my soul.
Music education in Georgia is not just encouraged – it’s a rite of passage. From an early age, children are encouraged to explore the world of music, learning to play instruments, sing, and appreciate the beauty of musical expression. For me, this early exposure to music laid the foundation for my future career and fueled my desire to pursue my dreams in the world of music.

In the late 2000s, my sister Eka and I embarked on an exciting musical journey together. Inspired by our shared love of music and desire to make our mark on the world, we formed a girls band called EMI, named after our initials – Eka & Ia Manizhashvili. With our unconventional stage image, bold visuals, and unique vocal stylings, we quickly caught the attention of audiences across Georgia. Our songs climbed the charts, earning us recognition and acclaim, culminating in the release of our debut album, “Close Your Eyes,” in 2004.
But life is full of twists and turns, and in pursuit of new horizons, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to the United States. It was a daunting decision, to leave behind everything familiar and embark on a new chapter in a foreign land. Yet, it was also an opportunity to pursue my passion for music on a global scale and explore new avenues for creative expression.
Arriving in the United States, I faced the challenge of starting anew in a highly competitive music industry. Fortunately, I was not alone in this endeavor. My husband, a seasoned musician and professional sound engineer, stood by my side, offering support, guidance, and invaluable expertise. We established Davi Mc Production & D.M.A. RECORDS, a production studio based in Williamsburg, renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and production services.
Under the banner of Davi Mc Production, I embarked on a new musical journey, exploring new sounds, styles, and languages. In 2023, I released my first English-language single, “DISCO,” a vibrant and infectious track recorded and filmed at our studio. As a firm believer in the power of individuality and self-expression, I took charge of styling the music video, infusing it with my unique aesthetic sensibilities and personal flair.
Looking ahead, I am excited to continue exploring new musical territories and sharing my artistry with the world. I am working hard on my upcoming album, slated for release in 2024. In an industry saturated with talent and competition, I strive to create music that is captivating, memorable, authentic, and true to myself. For me, music is more than just a career – it’s a calling, a passion, and a means of connecting with others on a deeper level.

My journey from Georgia to the United States has been a whirlwind of adventure, growth, and discovery. Through the ups and downs, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to creating music that moves hearts, inspires minds, and transcends boundaries. With Davi Mc Production by my side, I am confident that the best is yet to come, and I look forward to sharing my music with audiences worldwide.
