Gwyneth Paltrow has found herself being mentioned multiple times on The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY), and even she is puzzled as to why. One memorable instance occurred during Season 3, when the cast took a trip to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Kelly Bensimon accused Bethenny Frankel of attacking Paltrow, leading to a heated exchange between Bensimon and Frankel. Frankel’s response to the accusation was a bewildered, “Who’s Gwyneth?”
Paltrow later appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where she was shown the clip. She seemed confused and indicated that the allegations did not make sense to her.
In addition to this episode, often referred to as the Scary Island episode, Paltrow’s name surfaced again during the reunion of Season 14. Jessel Taank mentioned Paltrow while responding to Erin Lichy, claiming that while Taank was delivering newspapers with her mother, Lichy was supposedly attending the ballet with Brad Pitt and Paltrow.
Despite these multiple mentions, Paltrow remains in the dark about why her name is frequently invoked on RHONY.
