For eight years, Chinny flourished in Nigeria’s beauty industry despite facing obstacles such as staffing challenges and erratic electricity supply which hampered workflow efficiency. Moreover, sourcing quality makeup products necessitated frequent travels abroad – to America, Europe, or Dubai – underscoring the lengths she went to maintain service excellence.
However, 2020 marked another significant turn in Chinny’s life narrative. Amidst pregnancy and personal upheavals including the end of a relationship – she made the bold decision to relocate to the United States. Arriving heavily pregnant and without familial support presented an array of challenges but also clarity and motivation post-birth. Her daughter became the beacon of hope and inspiration for striving towards a better life.
In Houston, Texas, Chinny has re-established herself as “makeupbychinny”, specializing in bridal makeup, birthday celebrations, party makeovers and photoshoots along with microblading and ombre brows techniques. Notably poised to launch her own makeup line soon – “by God’s grace” as she humbly adds – it is evident that hard work coupled with consistency forms the cornerstone of her ethos.
Her mantra “To never give up; trust God and the process; consistency is very important your clients want to know that they can count on you to deliver” encapsulates not only her business philosophy but also reflects on personal resilience.
