The Emmy Award winner shares her journey of getting a breast reduction and surprises Drake with a wheelbarrow full of bras on her talk show.
In an exciting season 2 premiere of her talk show, Sherri Shepherd stunned viewers with a brand new look, revealing that she had undergone a breast reduction surgery. The 56-year-old comedian started the show by addressing comments she had received throughout her career about her body, particularly her top-heavy figure. She shared how people had suggested that a boob job would help achieve a more balanced appearance. And so, Shepherd boldly announced, “Guess what? I got my boobs done!”
Emphasizing that the decision was not solely based on external opinions, the Emmy Award winner explained that her motivation for the surgery was simply to experience what it felt like to sleep on her stomach. “To be clear, I did not get this boob job because of all the comments. I got the boob job because I just wanted to see what it felt like to sleep on my stomach,” she clarified.
Shepherd, who had previously worn a 42DD bra size, humorously admitted that she had felt burdened by the weight of her large breasts. She quipped, “I thought I was carrying around the weight of the world — but really it was the weight of my boobs.” The comedian humorously acknowledged the pain and discomfort she had endured, stating that her back had been severely affected.
Expressing her relief after the breast reduction, Shepherd said, “I’m so happy that I did it. I feel better. I’m not gonna say I wish I had done this a while ago because timing is everything. God gave them to me, they served me well but now, as I get older, I can sit up straight.” The TV personality described feeling “lighter” than ever before, highlighting the positive impact the surgery had on her overall well-being.
With her breast size significantly reduced, Shepherd found herself with a collection of old bras that no longer fit her. Seizing the opportunity for a playful gesture, she decided to gift them to someone who appreciates big bras—Drake. The popular Toronto rapper has often found himself showered with bras during his performances, as fans enthusiastically throw them on stage. To humorously fulfill Drake’s apparent affinity for big bras, Shepherd wheeled out a wheelbarrow filled with bras on her show and jokingly offered them to him. “Drake likes big bras so much, I got a bunch of them he can have, ’cause I am not using my bras anymore,” she playfully quipped.
In addition to her breast reduction revelation, Shepherd addressed the ongoing strikes by writers and actors in Hollywood. She explained that her self-titled show was able to continue despite the strikes because it was not a WGA show and had never employed WGA writers. Shepherd wanted to clear any confusion surrounding her show’s return and assured viewers that she and her team were not crossing any picket lines.
Sherri Shepherd’s breast reduction journey and her amusing gesture for Drake showcased her openness and lightheartedness. As she enters a new season of her talk show, she embraces her transformed physique and continues to bring laughter and entertainment to her audience.
