KATSEYE’s “Wild Hearts” Documentary Sets October 16 Streaming Premiere After Theatrical Run and No. 1 EP

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, the documentary following the global girl group’s rise, will begin streaming October 16, 2026, on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally. The announcement came September 23, after the film’s limited theatrical run in August and the group’s third EP, WILD, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Key Takeaways

  • KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS streams on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S. starting October 16, with Disney+ carrying it internationally on the same date.
  • Nadia Hallgren directed the film, produced by Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures in partnership with HYBE x Geffen.
  • The documentary premiered in theaters two days before the release of WILD, which became KATSEYE’s first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
  • Fan videos submitted by the group’s community, known as EYEKONS, are woven into the film alongside unseen footage and member interviews.
  • The streaming date lands shortly after the launch of KATSEYE: The Wildworld Tour earlier in September.
  • KATSEYE will appear as the musical guest on the Season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26, hosted by Jalen Brunson.

From Theaters to Streaming in Two Months

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS followed a release pattern that has become common for music documentaries built around active fan communities. The film opened in a limited theatrical run in August, giving dedicated fans a communal viewing experience, then moved to streaming for the much larger audience that could not reach a theater.

The timing of each step was coordinated with the music. The theatrical release arrived two days before WILD, turning the film into part of the album rollout rather than a separate project. The streaming premiere follows the Wildworld Tour launch and a high-profile SNL booking, keeping KATSEYE in front of audiences through the fall.

For a group whose growth has been driven by short-form video and fan-made content, a streaming release matters. It puts the film on the same screens where many fans already discover and share the group’s music, with Disney+ and Hulu serving as the distributors.

What the Documentary Covers

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS traces the group from the pressure of The Debut: Dream Academy, the 2023 competition that formed KATSEYE, to the viral success and chart milestones that followed. According to the official synopsis, the film covers the highs, setbacks, sacrifices and breakthrough moments of that path, featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with the members.

What distinguishes the film is its focus on fans. The synopsis describes it as a love letter to EYEKONS, and fan-submitted videos appear throughout. That approach reflects how KATSEYE’s audience has shaped its rise, from dance challenges to viral clips of live performances.

Nadia Hallgren directs, bringing a documentary filmmaker’s perspective to a pop story that has already been told once in reality-TV form. The group’s formation was chronicled in the 2024 Netflix docuseries Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE. WILD HEARTS picks up the story after the group’s debut, focusing on the era that turned a competition-born act into a chart-topping touring group.

A Global Group Built on a New Model

KATSEYE’s story matters to the music industry because of how the group was built. The Dream Academy audition process drew about 120,000 applicants and applied K-pop training methods to an international lineup, with members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States. The group sings mainly in English and has described itself as a global group rather than a K-pop act.

That model was tested in public. KATSEYE debuted in June 2024 with the single “Debut,” released its first EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), later that year, and followed with Beautiful Chaos in 2025, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Along the way, the group earned a Grammy nomination and drew large crowds at Lollapalooza. WILD reaching No. 1 marks the clearest sign yet that the experiment has found a mass audience.

SNL Premiere Adds to a Busy Fall

Before WILD HEARTS reaches streaming, KATSEYE takes one of television’s most visible music slots. The group is the musical guest for the Season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26, with New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson hosting.

A season-premiere SNL booking has historically served as a signal of mainstream arrival for pop acts. For KATSEYE, it lands between a No. 1 EP, a new tour and a streaming documentary, a run of exposure that covers nearly every major channel for reaching new listeners.

For EYEKONS, October 16 offers a chance to revisit the group’s journey at home. For the broader industry, KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS documents one of the more closely watched artist-development experiments in recent pop music.

NEW YORK, NY: The lights of Times Square had even more star power on September 15 as thousands gathered for the 8th Annual Times Square Fashion Week®, an outdoor celebration bringing together fashion, celebrity, music, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and culture in the heart of New York City.

Founded and executive produced by Dee Rivera, CEO of DCG Media Group and producer of Hamptons Fashion Week, Times Square Fashion Week® transformed one of the world’s most recognizable destinations into a live runway and entertainment experience. Designers shared the stage with celebrities, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, media personalities, influencers and performers as crowds experienced fashion beneath the legendary Times Square billboards.

“Eight years ago, I had a vision of creating a fashion platform in Times Square where established names could stand alongside emerging designers, entrepreneurs and young creatives,” Rivera said. “Seeing everyone come together on this global stage reminds me why we created it. It is about fashion, but it is also about access, visibility, community and opening doors.”

Among the notable personalities joining the celebration were philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, serial entrepreneur and CEO Richie Hosein, Stephen Michael, CEO of Propel Earth, celebrity rapper Bobby Shmurda, Netflix’s Owning Manhattan personality Jordan March and Celebrity DJ Rob Beer.

One of the evening’s milestones belonged to luxury handbag brand Daneault, which made its New York runway debut during Fashion Week season and received the Designer of the Year Award.

Known for reversible leather handbags created for women in motion, Daneault combines craftsmanship and sophisticated design with everyday versatility.

Avant-garde jewelry from S Designs completed runway looks with dramatic statement pieces.

Music, Celebrity and Live Entertainment

The event was as much an entertainment experience as it was a fashion show.

Celebrity DJ Rob Beer provided the runway soundtrack, while live performances from Jackson Sturkey and opera singer Ariel Joy brought another level of energy to the outdoor stage.

Beyond the runway, Times Square Fashion Week® expanded into digital media through the Live from Times Square Podcast.

Stephen Michael and Richie Hosein, in collaboration with Steady Ro Studios, connected with designers, entrepreneurs and personalities, giving guests an opportunity to share the stories behind their brands, businesses and careers.

Social purpose also remained part of the celebration.

Times Square Fashion Week® collaborated with the Social Justice Network’s Comic Books for Justice Initiative, presented with Catherine Schuller and founder Terrence Coffie. The initiative works with young people in New York City detention centers, using creativity and storytelling as tools for expression and personal growth.

“Fashion can give people a voice,” Rivera said. “Our platform should not only showcase beautiful clothes; it should create opportunities and make people feel that they belong.”

Partners supporting the 2026 celebration included Steady Ro Studios, Unique Creations Designs, Essentia Water, Tru Fru, Update Energy Drinks and Project One NYC.

After eight years, Times Square Fashion Week® continues to demonstrate that fashion can reach beyond a traditional runway.

In Times Square, celebrities meet designers, entrepreneurs meet audiences, music meets fashion, and New York City itself becomes part of the show.
