Meghan Markle’s Unforgettable Cameo on 90210: AnnaLynne McCord’s Candid Reflections

A Glimpse into the Early Career of the Duchess of Sussex

Before Meghan Markle ascended to international prominence as the Duchess of Sussex, she had an intriguing, albeit brief, role on the popular teen drama series, 90210. AnnaLynne McCord, a key actress on the show, recently divulged her thoughts on Markle’s character during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. The discussion took place as McCord was promoting her upcoming film, “Condition of Return,” set to premiere on September 22, 2023.

Meghan Markle, who is now 42 years old, made her appearance in the inaugural two episodes of the CW series, which had a successful run from 2008 to 2013. In a plot twist that caught viewers off guard, it was unveiled that Ethan Ward, portrayed by Dustin Milligan and the then-boyfriend of McCord’s character Naomi Clark, was romantically involved with Markle’s character, Wendy. The clandestine relationship was exposed when the two were discovered in a compromising situation inside Ethan’s car.

AnnaLynne McCord, now 36, reminisced about discussing Markle’s role during a 2018 episode of “The Wendy Williams Show,” coincidentally the same year Markle wed Prince Harry. McCord expressed her amusement at the situation, stating that such a storyline could only occur on a show like 90210.

While 90210 served as a stepping stone in Markle’s acting career, she later gained widespread recognition for her role as Rachel Zane on the legal drama “Suits,” which she was a part of from 2011 until 2018. On the other hand, McCord has remained industrious, involving herself in a variety of projects post-90210, including roles in “Scorned,” “The Night Shift,” “Secrets and Lies,” “Let’s Get Physical,” and “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”

In her latest cinematic endeavor, McCord portrays a character named Eve, who commits a heinous act as a consequence of striking a deal with the devil. She co-stars with Dean Cain, who plays Dr. Donald Thomas, a character determined to unravel the mystery behind Eve’s actions. Despite the film’s grave subject matter, McCord and Cain enjoyed a congenial rapport on set, often engaging in delightful conversations when the cameras were off.

McCord also touched upon the film’s topical theme of mass shootings, emphasizing the importance of addressing such pressing issues through the medium of film. She expressed her hope that “Condition of Return” would spark meaningful conversations and contribute to societal awareness.

“Condition of Return” is set to premiere in theaters and will be available for rent or purchase on cable services.
