Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania released its first trailer, giving fans a taste of what’s next for Phase 5 of the MCU.
Like most trailers, the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer raised a lot of questions:
- What happened to Janet Van Dyne in the Quantum Realm?
- Who does Bill Murray play?
- What does Kang want?
The Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer
The trailer continues a trend seen in the Phase 4 projects as the world continues after the Avengers save the universe from Thanos.
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) relishes his newfound celebrity status but is still mistaken for Spider-Man.
However, things go downhill for Scott and the Ant-Man family.
Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) is experimenting with a way to contact the quantum realm.
Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) tries to call off her attempts, aware of its danger.
Before they can stop, the family is sucked into the Quantum Realm.
The first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows that most of the film is set in the Quantum Realm.
We also meet Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror (albeit a variation of the one in Loki) and watch Cassie Lang get to suit up with her dad.

Janet Van Dyne and the Quantum Realm
Janet Van Dyne was stuck in the Quantum Realm for decades and had been through a lot.
Her time in the Quantum Realm remains a mystery with secrets even Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) doesn’t know.
When she finds out about Cassie’s attempts, she tries to put them to a stop.
The film will explore what happened to Janet Van Dyne in the Quantum Realm.
Bill Murray
Legendary Bill Murray joins the MCU as a character named Krylar.
Krylar’s inclusion in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is fascinating because he has only made one appearance in the comics.
Surprisingly, his appearance was not in an Ant-Man title but in The Incredible Hulk.
However, the appearance of Bill Murray opens up many possibilities.
His connection to Janet Van Dyne will provide details about her time in the Quantum Realm.

Kang the Conqueror
Jonathan Majors first appeared as a Kang variant named He Who Remains in Loki.
Though his character was the least evil of his variants, Kang’s appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promises something foreboding for Scott.
In the trailer, Kang offers to help Ant-Man get back to his world on the condition that he helps him steal something.
Their collaboration on a heist could open the door to a Phase 5 showdown between Kang and the Avengers.
