Anne Hathaway Shares Insight on Matching Tattoos with Spouse
On a recent showing of ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, which aired on the first day of December, Anne Hathaway disclosed that she shares a matching tattoo with her spouse. The 41-year-old star shed light on her tattoo while featuring on the show.
The tattoo, which is the letter “M” etched on her left wrist, bears significant meaning to both Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman. Hathaway articulated, “We have this thing, it’s actually a tattoo, and the idea is that individually we’re whole but together we’re more.”
She further expanded on their union, emphasizing that they do not look to each other for completion, but rather, they enhance one another. The couple, together for a decade and a half, celebrated their 11th year of marriage this past September. They are parents to two boys.
In an earlier conversation with Harper’s Bazaar UK, Hathaway expressed that she recognized Shulman as her soulmate the moment they met. Their bond has always been profoundly strong.
In the same episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore brought up a fascinating online theory about Hathaway and Shulman, highlighting a striking resemblance between Shulman and William Shakespeare, who was married to someone also named Anne Hathaway.
In response, Hathaway commented, “It would be great if it was true, but even if it’s not, it’s still kinda great.” She reminisced about their second date, which was at a Halloween event hosted by Barrymore, where she was dressed as Tippi Hedren from The Birds.
Barrymore, thrilled by the serendipity, exclaimed, “It comes full circle!” Hathaway, blushing, acknowledged her affection for her husband.
Hathaway’s most recent cinematic venture, Eileen, is a psychological thriller where she portrays Rebecca, a therapist working in a juvenile correctional facility. The film premiered in select cinemas on December 1 and is scheduled for a broader release on December 8.
