Clayton Echard is nearing the moment when he will learn if he is the biological father of his ex-partner’s unborn twins. The 30-year-old former Bachelor took to Instagram to update his followers. He stated that he had completed his part of the paternity test last week and was informed that the other party had taken their test that morning. Echard expects the results to be available by the beginning of the next week. He mentioned that the outcome could be affirmative, negative, or inconclusive. He elaborated that an “inconclusive” result could occur if there is insufficient fetal DNA.
Last month, news emerged that an unidentified former partner of Echard had filed a lawsuit in August, asserting that she is carrying his twins following a one-night encounter. The 33-year-old woman stated that she had not been intimate with anyone else since March 2022, making Echard the only possible father. Echard, however, refuted the claim that they had sexual intercourse, stating in legal documents that they had only engaged in oral sex.
After learning she was expecting twins in May, the woman informed Echard, who then invited her to take a pregnancy test. Following the test, he allegedly messaged her, saying he no longer considered her a liar. In the lawsuit, the woman also stated that Echard initially declined to take a paternity test, dismissing her claims as groundless. On September 21, Echard shared a receipt for his $725 paternity test on Instagram, captioning it, “This is the timeline. The truth will always set you free.”
Neama Rahmani, a 44-year-old attorney not involved in the case, opined that it wouldn’t be logical for Echard to file a countersuit. Rahmani explained that anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason, but the case wouldn’t hold much weight unless there were actual damages. He added that as long as there’s a reasonable basis to believe Echard could be the father, no judge would allow a countersuit to proceed.
