By: Alena Wiese

Cali Rossen is an artist whose work bridges the realms of creativity, healing, and transformation. While her career began in acting and filmmaking, her journey has evolved into a mission to help others find emotional and spiritual well-being through sound and energy healing. As the founder of Sacred Frequencies, Rossen integrates her artistic talents with her healing expertise to provide a holistic approach to personal growth.

From Hollywood to Healing: The Evolution of an Artist

Cali Rossen began her artistic journey on the silver screen, captivating audiences in films and television series. Her career highlights include co-starring with Bryan Cranston in The Hollywood Quad and producing and acting alongside Ed Asner in The Sand Castle. These experiences honed her creative skills and deepened her desire to connect with others meaningfully.

Despite her professional success, Rossen faced profound personal challenges, including the loss of both parents within a short period. “That period of my life was incredibly dark,” she shares. “I found my way back to myself through sound, music, and mindfulness. It made me realize that my creative energy could be channeled into helping others heal.”

This pivotal moment led to Sacred Frequencies, a practice that aims to support individuals in their emotional and spiritual journeys.

The Artistic Harmony of Sound Healing

At the heart of Sacred Frequencies is the transformative power of sound healing. Rossen uses instruments such as crystal singing bowls and gongs to create immersive soundscapes that promote relaxation and self-awareness.

“Sound is art,” Rossen explains. “It’s a medium that transcends language, tapping directly into emotions and energy fields.”

Clients describe the sessions as grounding and uplifting. Maria Sanchez, a client, shares her experience: “At first, I struggled to relax, but as the sounds enveloped me, I felt a profound sense of calm. It was as if the vibrations shifted my emotional state.”

Chefs Adir Cohen and Liad Ichiye Share a Passion for Possibility

By: Jon Stojan

Adir Cohen and Liad Ichiye: Turning Passion into Culinary Masterpieces

Head chefs and serial restaurateurs Adir Cohen and Liad Ichiye share a simple passion for making good food, which has led them to remarkable success. The two chefs are building a collection of restaurants that provide their customers with high-end kosher food and an unforgettable experience. After all, the two maintain that “going out and having fun all starts with food.”

Their innovative approach to dining blends traditional culinary techniques with contemporary flavors, ensuring each dish is as memorable as it is delicious. By emphasizing locally sourced ingredients and seasonal menus, Adir and Liad have created a dining experience that delights the palate and reflects their deep commitment to quality and authenticity.

Beginnings at the Herbert Samuel

Cohen and Ichiye first met in Israel while working at the restaurant Herbert Samuel. At the time, it was one of the premier restaurants in the country, but after a few years, the team split up. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the two chefs got back in touch and decided to open a restaurant in Los Angeles.

Starting a Restaurant in 2020

When Cohen and Ichiye started in 2020, they had only seven employees and were stuck squarely in the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic greatly impacted their careers and caused both chefs to work alone to develop different ideas for growing the business. As with many other companies, the pandemic was brutal for the two chefs, but their perseverance inspired them.

Building the Concept for Next Door

Cohen and Ichiye had enough time during COVID-19 to develop the concept for a high-end kosher restaurant, Next Door, that would bring all the flavors of their home to Los Angeles. When they tested their menu, they saw how much people enjoyed eating their food—all they needed was to find the perfect team. They already knew their idea would succeed if appropriately implemented, but their staff needed to be well-trained.

“We faced the obstacle of ensuring we have the right crew,” Cohen and Ichiye said. “We had to train them to make the food exactly how we wanted and ensure all the guests received the right customer experience.”

A Passion for Food Only Grows Stronger

Cohen and Ichiye found success in the restaurant business through skill and dedication. Today, they operate several restaurants, including Next Door, Dr. Sandwich, Bazaar Market, and Salamtak Catering, and employ nearly 100 people. Together, their passion for the food business has only grown stronger.

Cohen and Ichiye have also participated in culinary festivals, such as the Tel Aviv Groove Festival, where they presented kosher dishes alongside other reputable Israeli chefs.

“We bring our cultural food with a Mediterranean and eclectic fusion twist,” Cohen and Ichiye said. “We are glatt kosher, and offer different menus designed for each specific event.”

Plans for the Future

Moving forward, Cohen and Ichiye don’t plan to stop their restaurant journey with Dr. Sandwich or Salamtak Catering. Within the following year, the two chefs plan to establish a new burger shop to provide the premier burgers in the city. They hope this venture will be their first franchise, spreading unique flavors throughout the United States.

“Our ideas and goals are endless,” they say, “and we would love to open many more restaurants.”
