LAS VEGAS, NV – The ex-residence of a notorious mobster, associated with the real-life figure that inspired a character in the 1995 crime film “Casino,” has hit the real estate market in Las Vegas for $550,000. Directed by Martin Scorsese, “Casino” stars Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci, portraying Sam “Ace” Rothstein, Nicky Santoro, and Ginger McKenna, respectively.
The recently listed property at 3179 Desmond Avenue in Las Vegas, now owned by an unnamed dancer, was previously home to John Spilotro, the younger brother to Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, whose life inspired the ruthless character Nicky Santoro, played by Joe Pesci in Casino.
John, mirroring the character of Nicky’s brother Dominick (portrayed by Philip Suriano), had ties to the Chicago mob known as “The Outfit” and was under FBI scrutiny. Both brothers were part of the “Hole in the Wall Gang,” led by the elder Spilotro, gaining notoriety after the release of “Casino,” based on Nicholas Pileggi’s true-crime novel.
The property is listed on the Multiple Listing Service and is described as:
